Mesoscale models benchmarking exercise
Following the success of previous comparison exercises in the field of resource assessment, EWEA will host a comparison exercise aiming at benchmarking mesoscale modelling for the estimation of site wind conditions. The results of this exercise were presented at EWEA’s upcoming technology workshop Resource Assessment 2015.
The scope of this exercise is to evaluate the capabilities of mesoscale models used in wind energy to estimate site wind conditions, with a tailored benchmarking study. Participants will be asked to provide hourly time series at a number of sites for the whole of 2011.
An in-depth analysis of results was presented in Paris at EWEA 2015.
Offshore CREYAP Part 2
Following the success of previous comparison exercises in the field of resource assessment, EWEA will host a second offshore CREYAP exercise.
The essential results of this exercise were presented at EWEA’s upcoming Offshore 2015 conference in Copenhagen and the extended results – with a specific focus on wakes – were presented in full detail at EWEA’s technology workshop Resource Assessment 2015.
