WindEurope Workshops
In addition to its main events, EWEA organises wind energy workshops in response to requests from members where participants can exchange experience on policy, finance and technical developments. As with all of our events, EWEA workshops are organised ‘for the industry by the industry’.
The highly popular technology workshops provide a quality platform for discussing specific issues at the best value for money for delegates, only possible because EWEA – the sector’s non-profit organisation – does not have to generate profit for shareholders. Wind Turbine Sound 2016 – 3rd edition
17 & 18 November 2016, Gdansk, Poland
The programme is now online! It will feature five sessions covering:
- Measurements
- Wind farm design & siting
- Wind turbine design
- Human perception of noise and guidelines
- Outcomes of the 1st Sound Propagation International Comparison Exercise (SPICE)
As in 2014, the different sessions will also include a specific look at amplitude modulation (AM/OAM), low-frequency sounds (LFS), sound levels and Tones.

Analysis of Operating Wind Farms 2016 – 3rd edition
14 & 15 April 2016, Bilbao, Spain
The 2016 edition focussed on big data and innovative approaches to boost performance and optimise O&M strategies.
The five sessions covered strategies to extract value from big data, understanding failures and detecting faults, using data for advanced performance modelling, reporting and analysis from operating assets, as well as innovative approaches to operations optimisation, life-extension and decommissioning.
During the extended networking breaks, participants were also able to view 37 posters and meet their authors.

Wind Power Forecasting 2013

Wind Power Forecasting 2015
1-2 October 2015, Leuven, Belgium
After one successful edition in Rotterdam (2013) in the fall of 2015, EWEA will hold the second edition of its Wind Power Forecasting workshop.
Special focus: meeting end-users’ needs.
The workshop will cover the following topics:
- Users’ perspective and experience
- Numerical weather prediction models
- Wind power forecasting models and operational systems
- Special Applications
- Grid Integration
- Concluded by an interactive session crowdsourcing the future

The third edition of EWEA’s Resource Assessment workshop was held in Helsinki, Finland, on 2-3 June 2015.

The Resource Assessment 2015 workshop had a specific focus on dealing with and reducing uncertainty. This focus was common to all topics and sessions.
