Q & A

Why has EWEA decided to continue with the event under the circumstances?

EWEA decided to move forward with its annual event with assurances from the local authorities and the French police. This was not a decision that was taken lightly, but it is important that we show commitment and stand firm in the face of adversity. The association has expressed its condolences to all those affected in the tragic circumstances. Our thoughts are with them.

Are attendees at risk?

EWEA has been working very closely with the local authorities and the police to ensure that all necessary security and logistical measures are in place. EWEA can assure all delegates that the utmost care and consideration has been taken to ensure the event can go ahead safely.

What additional security measures have you taken?

We have taken additional security measures following reassurances from the French police. There are systematic checks at the main entrance of EWEA 2015. All those entering the premises will have bags and belongings checked and vetted at the entrance.

Please be aware that security measures have been escalated throughout the city. It is it is advisable to carry a form of ID and/or passport with you at all times.

Is it possible to get into France and around in Paris?

Charles de Gaulle airport, Eurostar, SNCF and Thalys services are all operational. EWEA staff and the main exhibitors have arrived already to Paris without any delays.

Are you offering logistical support to delegates throughout the event?

EWEA has organised a free shuttle service from major airports and train stations in Paris to the Porte de Versailles expo center.  These shuttles will run from Roissy Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports, train stations Gare du Nord and Gare de Lyon.
