First Europe-wide Photo Contest for wind energy: take pictures of wind turbines across Europe!

04.07.2007

As a part of the European Wind Day campaign, the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) is launching a Europe-wide photo contest for wind energy.

In collaboration with PHOTO, the renowned French photography magazine and organiser of the largest photo contest in the world, EWEA has created this event to explore and expose the striking visual imagery of wind power.

The rules are simple: take pictures of wind turbines anywhere in Europe; everyone can participate!

The 12 finalists will be published in the magazine and exhibited in several European capitals and cities throughout 2008.

The judging criteria for the contest considers both the creativity and quality of the photos in equal measures. All photographs must depict the technology as it has never been seen before, as well as the relationship between man, nature and wind energy.

A shortlist of the first round of photos will be determined by the PHOTO Board of Editors (comité de rédaction). From this list the 12 lucky winners will be chosen by the Board Members of EWEA.

The final deadline for photo submission is 10 August, 2007.
