PWEA is proud to invite you to the VIth edition of the Wind Energy Workshops, held under the following theme:

“National Power System balancing in the context of increased system share of variable sources”

Recently implemented modifications to the balancing mechanism, including the introduction of Operating Capacity Reserves, the introduction of emergency cooling reserve and the reduction of consumers’ demand substantially streamline market operation. However, one needs to know further power system development directions and balancing solutions in the context of substantial share of distributed, variable sources and the potential integration with the European market. A safe, controllable and predictable system may be achieved by several coordinated actions in the area of legal regulations, organisational changes and technological solutions (not necessarily energy storage facilities). These issues – and many more – will be discussed during our Workshops.
