EWEA launches Global Wind Day 2013 Photo Competition: “Discover the Stories behind Wind Energy”
22.02.2013
Every picture tells a story – what is yours?
The European Wind Energy Association has launched the Global Wind Day 2013 Photo Competition. Whether you are a photography novice or aficionado, EWEA encourages all competitors of 18 and older to submit an entry supplemented with a short text explaining what wind energy means to you.
It is up to you how long your text should be and what format it should have. You could describe where and how the picture you submitted was taken, explain why you chose that exact moment, motif and technical equipment or tell us your views on wind energy and your relationship to it. You could send us a story, or even a poem or a song. You choose how to express yourself.
Use this as an opportunity to be creative and share your story with us – the prize offered is a €1,000 Amazon voucher and the chance to be published on the EWEA blog, where you can now find the story of Jaap van der Beek, a pilot, farmer and wind enthusiast from North Holland with an 850kW turbine, who has been harvesting the wind and powering hundreds of homes for over 16 years.
The competition will be open until 12 May at 20:00 CET.
Entrants are eligible to win a grand prize of a €1,000 voucher for Amazon or €250 Amazon vouchers for regional winners. Winning photos will be published in Recharge, Wind Directions and on the EWEA blog.
