13.09.2010
Calling for new members of the European Wind Energy Technology Platform
IMPORTANT CHANGE:
Due to the HUSUM Wind Energy 2010 event on 21 – 25 September, which delayed the submission of many applications, the deadline of the TPWind call for expression of interest has been postponed to October the 1st, 2010, at midnight.
The European Wind Energy Technology Platform (TPWind) is looking for new members for its working groups
• Wind conditions;
• Wind turbines;
• Grid integration;
• Offshore;
• Environment & deployment.
TPWind is a network and R&D forum, coordinated by EWEA, Garrad Hassan and Risoe-DTU and composed of approximately 175 wind energy researchers and experts. Over the next three years, its work will focus on publishing and implementing strategic action plans to shape the development of the EU wind energy sector, as well as developing relationships with relevant stakeholders.
TPWind has an impressive track record developing, with the support of the European Commission and Member States, the European Wind Initiative (EWI) a large-scale, long-term programme for the development of wind power which was one of the Industrial Initiatives proposed by the European Commission’s Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan) and was published as the Wind Energy Roadmap (WER) in the EC Communication on “Investing in the Development of Low Carbon Technologies” in October 2009.
TPWind is therefore playing a central role in shaping European wind energy technology research and development.
The NEW deadline for applications is 1 October 2010 midnight.
