The candidate’s role is to manage the policy unit’s work, including relations with the EU institutions, national governments, international bodies, other industry associations and stakeholders. In addition, the Policy Director will have close contact with the members of EWEA. The Policy Director is responsible for a team of nine members of staff and oversees the design, preparation and quality of the research studies, policy documents and R&D initiatives carried out by EWEA.

Key qualifications and skills required

• Minimum five years’ professional experience in a similar role.
• At least a master’s degree in Economics, Law, Political Science, Public Administration, Engineering, or a related field, with evidence of an outstanding academic record.
• Excellent analytical, writing, and communications skills, and experience in formulating and promoting policies.
• Fluent written and oral English, be able to draft policy documents in English. A second language is also an advantage.
