17:00 - 18:30 Turbine technology - Driving down the cost of energy

Turbine technology

Room: A10

Session description

Main topic: reduction the cost of the energy

Special interest:
•       New models that help to decrease the cost of energy.
•       Identification of the most important innovations addressed to reduce the LCOE
•       New criteria of wind turbine design taking into account the real operational conditions of wind farms.
•       Leading edge protection for rotor blades
•       Cathodic protection simulation of substructures

Learning Objectives
  1. Know other wind turbine design models based on the actual behavior of wind farms
  2. Learn on which is the impact of the most impportant innovations
  3. Know the improvement of the rotor blades performance
  4. Know how to protect the substructures from corrosion

This session will be chaired by:
Antoni Martinez, CTO Renewables, KIC InnoEnergy, Spain
