Keynote speakers confirmed for EWEA 2013

03.12.2012

Continuing the practice of featuring the most relevant and interesting speakers at our Annual Events, EWEA 2013 in Vienna will see high-level political representatives from three countries that run the range of wind and renewable energy integration in their power mix.

In keeping with the ‘emerging markets’ theme of the event, the Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz will speak on the future development of wind energy in his country, an exciting emerging market for wind.

Ireland’s Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources Pat Rabbitte will share insights on the developing wind energy market in Ireland. As the Irish Presidency of the EU starts in January 2013, the Minister will explain his objectives for the period in the area of energy policy.

Representing the bridge between the established markets of Europe and the new opportunities to the east, Reinhold Mitterlahner, Austrian Federal Minister of Economy, Family and Youth, will share his government’s views on the future development of renewable energy, in a country that plans to get an impressive 71% of its electricity from renewable energy by 2020.

Visitors to the conference and exhibition in Vienna will also get the chance to sign up for trips to visit the country’s renewable energy fleet. One such ‘experience Austria’ tour takes in two of the world’s most powerful onshore turbines which together have an annual energy yield of around 15 million kilowatt hours, meeting the energy needs of around 4,000 households

These keynote speakers have been confirmed in the newly released full conference and event programme, available on the EWEA 2013 website, which gives details of the presentations, tracks and speakers that will be at the event next 4-7 February in Vienna.
