SUPERGRID 2013
No Transition without Transmission
19 March, Brussels
Our event last year confirmed that no show-stoppers exist to the development of a European Supergrid. The availability of key grid technologies is assumed and point-to-point connections could be expanded to multi-terminal building blocks for a larger overlaid grid. The critical time-line for the introduction of new technologies lies now primarily in solving non-technical issues such as, political support and leadership, harmonization of grid codes, regulatory procedures and revenue models.
Jeremy Rifkin, economist and author of The Third Industrial Revolution will join the morning panel. The 1st Award ceremony for the best Supergrid-related project will take place in the framework of the conference.

IET Renewable Power Generation Conference 2013
RPG 2013 will take place in Beijing on 9th to 11th September 2013. It will focus on wind and solar power generation (both PV and solar thermal power) and integration into power systems. This conference is the second in the planned annual series linked to the IET journal, Renewable Power Generation (RPG). The aim is to provide a forum for the latest research in renewable power generation technology and issues of integration into power systems. The link to the journal is emphasized by the commitment by IET to a dedicated special issue for the best papers submitted.
Please go to www.ietrpg.org to submit abstracts. Free attendance will be given to the best student papers. The published deadline for submission is 3rd December, but this will be treated flexibly.
