As a service to its members and the community at large, EWEA is hosting comparison exercises that aim to provide the industry with better modelling methodologies and tools, share experience and move towards best practice for the industry.
Since 2011, three exercises have been run on comparing resource and energy yield assessment procedures with a total of 130 teams taking part. The first two exercises focused on onshore, the third one on offshore.
EWEA would like to thank the partners organisations - in particular RES Ltd and DTU Wind Energy - for their significant input, without which these exercises would not be possible.
EWEA acts as a neutral platform and a facilitator by co-ordinating, hosting and promoting the exercises and organising events at which the results are presented. The exercises are organised on a non-commercial basis.
EWEA will run a Sound Propagation Comparison Exercise. The concept of the exercise will be presented at EWEA's upcoming technology workshop Wind Turbine Sound 2014, in Malmö, on 10 December 2014.
More information will be made available on this page in due course.
