		<description><![CDATA[Couldn&#039;t disagree more with Ms. Kasonen.  Offshore wind LCOE is much higher than on-shore.  In fact, some studies show off-shore LCOE to be 50% higher than on-shore.

The same goes for direct-drive PM turbines versus conventional gearbox drivetrains.  While on-shore turbines using conventional gearbox drivetrains may not sound sexy or high-tech, they are most cost-effective, and are the way forward.
