No. I have not been under a 3MW turbine, but I know that wind power is the only energy technology that will scale up enough to preserve nature.

Preserving nature is far more important than contemplating it. If we continue using carbon then you will visit a mountaintop for contemplation and enjoyment of nature's devastation.

We need to make choices. The estimates are that wind/solar energy will cost about 15% more and it will keep some of our favorite trekking ground off limits. In exchange for that we get to keep a world where we can live. What will we choose?

If we keep pushing, we will find out that Mother Nature can become a real bitch.

You neglected to mention the caveat that the German Wind Energy Association gave. Conservationists who want to protect mountain tops from large industrial wind and the pumped storage facilities that would be required to firm up the unreliable supply will have to change their attitudes and allow large areas of protected lands to be developed.

Until you have actually stood under a 3 MWe wind turbine mounted on a 130 meter tall tower, it is difficult to understand just how destructive such machines can be when installed in areas that people visit for contemplation, relaxation and enjoyment of nature's beauty.
