Share this session on:

Onshore      Offshore

Room: Belleville

This session targets to provide a brief overview of the financing landscape of the onshore wind industry in Europe. A special focus in the discussion shall be on changing market environments like for remuneration schemes, difficult economic developments in some countries and future expectations with respect to further industry growth in Europe. Challenges will be discussed as well as mitigating factors that can result in opportunities instead.

Learning objectives

  • Participants are expected to have an overview of what regions in Europe can offer financeable business opportunities in the future.
  • Participants will understand how changing remuneration schemes towards auction systems may create challenges or opportunities.
  • Participants will learn what challenges countries with weaker economic conditions or a lack of governmental support face and what mitigating factors may exist.
  • Participants will also learn about potential support to attract the necessary financing in a difficult environment (like through EFSI).
This session will be chaired by:
Hajo Neugaertner, Head of Financial Analysis & Structuring, EWEA Working Group on Finance, Germany
