SEANERGY 2020
Planning for offshore RES in the North Sea
Wednesday, 16 March
14:00 - 18:00
Room 1101A, Brussels Expo
What is SEANERGY 2020?
SEANERGY 2020 is an IEE-funded project that aims to create and promote policy recommendations on how to best deal with maritime spatial planning (MSP) and remove MSP obstacles that stand against the deployment of offshore power generation.
Objectives of the North Sea regional workshop?
The North Sea workshop addressed the specificities and concerns of MSP in the North Sea area, an area where MSP can be a decisive factor in the better deployment of offshore RES. Moreover, the workshop disseminated findings to date of the national and international maritime spatial planning regimes. The programme featured presentations and interactive discussions.
Who attended?
This workshop was targeted not only to MSP authorities at all levels, planners, regulators, TSOs, renewable energy project developers and utilities but also to interest groups involved in MSP: shipping and maritime transport organisations, fishing associations, environmental NGOs, researchers and other concerned stakeholders.
