WINDSPEED project - final dissemination workshop
A 2030 roadmap to offshore wind deployment in the Central and Southern North Sea
Event overview
The WINDSPEED project, funded under the Intelligent Energy Europe programme, has developed a roadmap for the deployment of offshore wind energy in the Central and Southern North Sea in the medium term (2020 to 2030).
This final dissemination workshop presented the final roadmap, including development pathways for offshore wind energy in the North Sea basin for a number of different development perspectives, i.e. interactions between offshore wind and other sea use functions, constraints on costs and cross-border synergies, and policy recommendations in support of these futures.
This workshop was targeted towards European and national policy makers promoting renewable energy, and offshore wind in particular, as well as policy makers from various other disciplines such as spatial planning, grid infrastructure, sea traffic, environment and fisheries. Other target groups included transmission system operators, energy utilities, and wind farm developers.
